I just got a call from the same number but the ringer was off and I missed it but I noticed that a blocked number called right after it within the same minute. I have always been against answering blocked numbers because there is no reason to call me blocked unless your trying to hide something even if its something small. I've had Exs prank me there new girlfriends trying to call to mess with me you name it. So I never answer them anymore specially now because even though the dramatic blocked calls have ended since I've become an adult, now apparently these hackers/thieves/liars/etc are now calling if you don't answer their fake numbers. You also have to be careful what information you say on your answering machine message because they might only have your number and if you say your entire name over the message now they have two things about you they didn't know before. Its very shocking how little information they need to steal your money or identity etc. Even answer yes or no to things they ask right away even if you are planning to tell them to leave you alone. You never know what kind of technology they are using they could have a tracker and figure out where you live just because you answered. Those kinds of people, specially ones who are good at it and have the money, will get whatever they have to, to make sure they have the easiest and fastest way to get your information so they can move on to the next person. They called me twice once with a number once with a blocked number and when I didn't answer they moved to the next number on their list. Now my number is probably on another list to be tried again but if I continue to be an non easy target they will forgo calling me all together. Best thing to do is to just not answer and make sure that if you do decide not to answer that you don't have any information they could use on your voicemail message. If you see an unknown number specially one that doesn't even have a recognizable area code just end the call and if you know that you have your name on your voicemail message then just answer and hang up right after you answer. Hope this has helped anyone else who gets called by this number or any other similar situations. One last thing I called the number back by accident because I was trying to check if they left a message and luckily my phone is prepaid because even though I have unlimited minutes I got a message from my phone company when I called that said I did not have enough funds to make the call so they kind of saved me there. And the other thing is just try to trust your gut and think of all the possibilities don't underestimate these kinds of people all. I've seen some of the smartest people get conned even when they were telling the people to leave them alone because they kept answer their questions even though they were saying no and stop calling these people are trained to know what questions to ask and how to get you to answer a question that seems completely unimportant information wise. Its similar to the way a fortune teller would get info about you to make you think your having your mind read but really your giving them information without even realizing it. If you do get hacked or stolen from don't feel bad or stupid or ANYTHING like that everybody and anybody can be conned including the people who are trained to con you. Never blame yourself just educate yourself further on exactly what to look for and what not to do or say. But the best way is to just ignore it and they will move on BUT if possible always report it because no one deserves to be tricked into anything and you don't want it to happen to you so if you can help in anyway take the time to do it. - L

Got the same call form same number for same amount. FRAUD people. Infact I put the number in reject list but still they are able to call me which is wierd.

I also got a call from 202689578 saying the Government Treasure Dept. had selected me to receive a grant, $8400 and they would like to know how I would like to receive it. I declined it, knowing it was another scam… Three days later a lady with Indian accent called me from this number. I immediately asked if she was calling me from Washington, DC… and she said, “No”, she said she was calling me from “INDIA”. Finally we discovered who is calling from this number. Be careful; don’t give them your bank number or accounts.

I got a call from 202689578 saying thay where the Government treasury department.. I know it was a
scam so I asked them nicely to not call me, two days later I
received another call only this time thay claimed I won a vacation. I ask to speak to a
manager or supervisor to tell
them to stop there games a
leave me alone. Then the so
called manager proceeded to
threaten me saying, he knows
where I live and he was coming
to shoot me in the head and then
rape my wife and impregnate
her. In the background I could
her other on the phone trying to
scam other people.. This people need stoped before someone falls for it.

Person claimed to be part of the US Government treasury department saying we were randomly selected for a $8400 grant ???
