This number really belongs to a "travel" company that offers "free" vacation-cruises, if you attend a high-pressure sales-pitch for a "timeshare" investment.
This caller offered to "lower my credit-card rate to zero".
Obviously, they "spoofed" the Caller-ID information of that "travel" company.
They asked for the CC's expiry-date, for "verification".
They asked for the name of the supplier of the credit-card -- giving them the 1st 4 digits.
They guessed the next 4 digits.
All BMO CC's use '2300' or '2301'.
For "verification", they asked for the final 8 digits, which would have given them all 16 digits & the expiry-date.
I refused.
They had my mailing-address (from www.Canada411.ca). No big deal.
Scammer, scammer, scammer.
