Someone with a stronger Indian accent than mine claimed to be ‘Roger’ who was “calling from your ISP about a service problem” - obviously a fraudster who would direct me to a scam website to install ransomeware or somesuch.
(I’ve checked this with my ISP before and they definitely would not phone me or any other customer about this.)
I told him “no you’re not, you’re a fraudster, get lost” and hung up.
My phone’s caller ID displayed “INTERNATIONAL” rather than a number during the call. The call history now displays “01470311349”, which would be on Skye, so yet again these fraudsters are spoofing the caller ID.
Have blocked the number via BT’s 1572 service.
