Wasters, although the number does show up on my phone rather than "withheld" but as the above messages say what a compete waste of time they are ??? They call and ask for my son who hasn't lived here for the last 2 years and rabbit on about survey and it won't take long and so on.. I have treid to block the caller id today on my phone so lets see if works.

Strong accent, very hard to understand. Said he was calling from Uk research. When I pressed him as to his location (I told him I didn't believe he was in the UK) he then told me the call centre was based in a local town to me! He also wouldn't say why he was collecting info and what would be done with it. I hung up. Calls like these really annoy me

I've had a number of calls from this number (00468698314208) today (26th July 2014). Most were silent, but the first one this morning wasn't. An asian male caller said "Am I speaking to Mrs Jones?". I confirmed he was (that's actually NOT my name) and he said he was calling from UK Research and wanted me to complete a survey. I told him I never answer questions from unsolicited callers. He told me that was OK as I could simply say I don't want to answer any specific questions. I told him I didn't want to answer ANY questions ..... he was still talking as I hung up (gotta love their tenacity!).
My husband has a neat way of dealing with these irritating idiots - he says "Of course I'd be happy to answer your questions, but could you just hang on a minute please?" He then puts the handset on the side and goes off to make a cuppa - they've always hung up by the time he gets back ... hehehe!
As this is a non-UK number and so is not under UK jurisdiction, the TPS are powerless to act against them (I've been registered with the TPS for years, but it's never put a stop to international cold calls).

This number called twice in as many hours saying they were from UK Research. First Sheena then John, both with what seemed like Asian accents.
