I originally received a call from 0000000000, stating that a 9,000.00 Federal Grant was waiting for me, as I had paid all of my bills and had had no arrests nor warrants issued in my name. All of this information is true, by the way. The Federal Government, feeling it's beneficence, wished to grant me the sum of 9,000.00 because of my state of good citizenry. This was all being said by someone who sounded as if they were in a room full of people, yammering the same thing, in a suspiciously off-shore accent. I was given three choices to receive my munificence: 1) In my checking account, which meant I would have to provide my personal information, 2) credited to my debit card, which would entail my providing my 16-digit card number, expiry date and 3-digit security code, or 3) by Western Union, which would entail me providing nothing in the way of personal information. Naturally, I chose #3; the caller then provided me with a call-back phone number of 2727381550 and my own personal code number to generate the Western Union Money Order, #Cs1800. She then asked me what I planned to do with the money, as the Federal Government did not want the money used for ill-gotten gains. A very strange phone call indeed. Playing along, I said, I would pay some bills and fix my teeth, which would be the truth, were I to call, however, I have no intention of calling. If it's too good to be true, it almost certainly is.
