Had a call form a guy from "Telecoms Research Organisation" asking how many extensions we had in the company/ what make of phones we use and who the managing director was. It definitely sounded like he was reading from a script to get information about the company so he can cold call again at a later date to sell something dodgy.

Answered, said I could give any info, the director isn't hear. Told the fellow that I couldn't give a name as I didn't know who he (the caller) was. Caller answered with "oh shut up" and put the phone down. Made me chuckle at least.

Do not answer this call. When I refused to give out the information that an aggressive woman was demanding, she started swearing at me and literally seemed to go into a rage on the other end of the phone. She asked questions about how many telephones we had in the office and who the managing director was, so they must just be some sort of data collecting 'agency' who will target you further if you give up any information. It was all very amusing but the joke is likely to wear thin if they call again.
